Football: Louis named to Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List
Redshirt junior linebacker Kyle Louis has been named to the Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation announced today.
Louis is one of 42 student-athletes to be selected as a 2025 contender for the 22nd annual Lott IMPACT Trophy. The award is presented each season to the college football’s best defensive player who also exhibits the characteristics of Ronnie Lott by making an IMPACT (Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity) on and off the field.
A standout from East Orange, N.J., Louis recorded 105 total tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, and four interceptions last season, including a 59-yard pick-six against Syracuse. His performance in 2024 earned him First-Team All-America honors from The Sporting News, making him the 100th Panther to receive that distinction and the first sophomore defensive player to do so since Hugh Green in 1978. In addition to his All-America recognition, Louis was named First-Team All-ACC and finished third in the ACC Defensive Player of the Year voting.
Off the field, Louis's commitment to excellence has set a standard for his teammates, playing a key role in cultivating a culture of accountability and hard work within the program. As the Panthers look ahead to 2025, his leadership and playmaking ability will be crucial as Pitt pursues success in the ACC and beyond.
Louis and the Panthers will host seven home games this fall, including four ACC matchups and a marquee showdown with last year's College Football Playoff runner-up, Notre Dame, on Nov. 15.
