Riveters SC continues to build up for its on-field debut with the addition of Pitt forward Ava Boyd for the 2025 USL W League season.
Boyd, 19, is another local talent lined up to join the Riveters after successful careers at nearby Pine-Richland High School and with the Riverhounds Development Academy’s Elite Clubs National League team. Her roster spot is pending USL and U.S. Soccer approval once 2025 registration opens.
“We know the qualities that Ava will bring to the group and we are looking forward to welcoming her back to the club," Riveters head coach ScottGibson said. "She is a very strong forward and has pace, power, and an eye for goal. Ava will add depth to our attacking options and we can’t wait to get started."
Boyd recently completed her second college season and first with the Panthers after transferring to Pitt after a year at Michigan State. Last season, she appeared in all 16 of the Panthers’ matches and recorded her first goal and assist in a Sept. 5 win over Dartmouth.
