The Steelers have signed running backs Max Hurleman and Trey Sermon, as well as offensive tackle Gareth Warren.
The team also released running back Aaron Shampklin.
I reported the Sermon signing yesterday, while Hurleman and Warren are new signings. Both are undrafted rookies who attended rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.
Hurleman stands 5-11 and weighs 200 pounds. He played his 2024 college season at Notre Dame after playing four seasons at Colgate. In 25 career games at Colgate, Hurleman rushed 194 times for 814 yards and one touchdown and caught 80 passes for 841 yards and three touchdowns. With the Fighting Irish, Hurleman was limited to special teams duties, including as a punt returner. He logged 23 returns for 138 yards, an average of 6.0 yards per attempt.
Warren stands 6-6 and weighs 333 pounds. He played his college football at Lindenwood, where he started out as a guard and later switched to tackle. That versatility could give him a better chance at making an impression during training camp.
