No Sidney Crosby, no Conor Sheary. No 66 percent of what served as one of hockey's best lines for the latter part of the season. No problem.
Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Capitals wasn't necessarily as pretty as a Penguins win led by Crosby, but the Evgeni Malkin-led variant of the black and gold found a way to quite literally grind out a 3-1 lead, and a chance to win the series in Washington on Saturday. Did I say Malkin? As good as the playoff points-leader has been, Marc-Andre Fleury once again seemingly carried the Penguins to victory behind his 34 saves.
From my seat, I never felt like there was great action happening in front of me tonight, and I was disappointed to see that my focus jumped on me in the best frame of Patric Hornqvist's goal. I made some images that I enjoy, though, and you can see those here. Overall, not my favorite day of playoff shooting, but there is always Saturday in Washington to make up for it.
