One of the great traditions of the NHL Playoffs, aside from the greatest — the handshake line — of course, is the playoff beard. The playoff beard is a bond that connects players and fans on a journey into the earliest days of summer.
Team by team, elimination by elimination, players and fans shed their facial hair to the sink drain while those who advance let the untamed growth continue. For the lucky few, there is the Stanley Cup Final, a chance to be the last beard left unshaved.
Now that the race for the Cup is down to the Predators and the Penguins, I only thought it was fair to share some of the faces — and therefore the beards — of those privileged enough to still be growing at Stanley Cup Final media day.
