So far, the 2017-18 season has been a mix of pairing bad games with excuses for how they happened and then sharing pictures from a surely page-turning game the next time out.
The evidence is in at the half year mark, and it's looking like the page-turners are more of the anomaly than the 'too fatigued from back-to-back runs' Penguins who are lacing it up the majority of the time.
So, yeah, this was another one of those bad games, but the only excuse left in the tank is that the Hurricanes are a dang good team and the Penguins are a dang tired one. There are a few shots below where the Penguins look like they've got something in the tank, but you'll notice the majority are in the Penguins' zone or the 'Canes doing some celebrating.
