Diontae Johnson was traded to the Ravens ahead of the trade deadline. Instead of being an upgrade for their receiver room, he’s been nonexistent. That trend continued Sunday with playing zero snaps in Baltimore’s loss to the Eagles Sunday evening.
Ahead of the Ravens’ bye week, John Harbaugh addressed reporters Monday and was asked about where they stand with Johnson’s inclusion, to which he gave an ominous response.
“At this time, I'm going to have to wait,” Harbaugh said. “There are some moving parts there that we're going to have to figure out and explore and see where we're at. It's the best I can do in fairness to everybody.”
Johnson’s future in Baltimore, even in the coming days, was put into further question with the answer he gave when asked if he expects Johnson to be on the team after the bye.
“Like I said, we’ll just work it out, see where we are over the next few days and this week.”
Now, the Steelers weren’t permitted by NFL rules to trade for Johnson ahead of the trade deadline. Teams can’t trade for players they traded away for two years. However, if the Ravens cut Johnson, he can sign with anyone, including the Steelers.
If the Ravens cut Johnson, do you think the Steelers should bring him back?
