Source: Steelers trading Pickens to Cowboys for picks
The Steelers and Cowboys are completing a trade that'll send George Pickens to Dallas, per a team source, for an exchange of NFL Draft picks:
• Third-rounder in 2026 to Pittsburgh • Fifth-rounder in 2027 to Pittsburgh • Sixth-rounder in 2027 to Dallas
Pickens, 24, had 59 catches for 900 yards and three touchdowns in the 2024 season, both team highs. He'd been heading into the final year of his entry-level contract, and there'd been no sign of movement toward an extension, leading to the very real possibility he'd be a hold-in for training camp.
In the trade's wake, the wide receiver depth chart has DK Metcalf, acquired via trade from the Seahawks two months ago and signed to a five-year, $150 million contract, then Calvin Austin, then some combination of recently signed Robert Woods, 2024 third-round pick Roman Wilson, Scotty Miller, Ben Skowronek and Brandon Johnson. Others under contract: Lance McCutcheon, Roc Taylor, Ke'Shawn Williams.
