George Pickens met with Dallas media today via conference call. Among all the questions, of course at least one was going to focus on the split with the Steelers.
"This game is just as much a business as it is football," Pickens said. "It's kind of out of my control. I'm glad to be in Dallas and continue the winning culture that they have."
In regards to a potential contract extension with the Cowboys, Pickens said he was more focused about the short term.
“I’m kinda where my feet are right now, to be honest,” Pickens said. “I’m not really thinking about contract talks. I’m just glad to be with the Cowboys right now, trying to build a winning culture.”
One of the reasons why the Steelers considered trading Pickens was a blend of not being committed to giving him a second contract and a full expectation that he would hold on during training camp.
