The Steelers had an informal meeting this week with Ohio State quarterback Will Howard, according to a team source.
Howard led the Buckeyes to a national championship this past season, and really elevated his draft stock with a strong performance in the college football playoffs. For the season, Howard completed 73.1% of his passes for 4,010 yards, averaging 9.5 yards per attempt, 35 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 16 games.
From what I hear, Howard really impressed during his meeting with the Steelers. Since it was an informal meeting, Howard didn't meet with Mike Tomlin or Omar Khan, but definitely left a big enough impression to possibly follow up with him at Ohio State's pro day or for a pre-draft visit.
