Craig Wolfley, former Steelers guard and radio broadcaster, passed away Monday at the age of 66.
He leaves behind six children and his wife, Faith.
Art Rooney II released the following statement on Mr. Wolfley's passing:
STEELERS
Mr. Wolfley had been the team’s radio color commentator since 2022, replacing good friend and former teammate Tunch Ilkin, who passed away from ALS in September 2021. Previously, he served as the team’s radio sideline reporter.
Selected in the fifth-round of the 1980 NFL Draft out of Syracuse, Mr. Wolfley played in 153 games over 10 seasons with the Steelers. He played the final two seasons in a 12-year NFL career with the Vikings.
During radio broadcasts, Mr. Wolfley upheld the precedent set before him by greats such as Ilkin and Myron Cope, bringing a vibrant personality to describing the action. His passion for the game came through in every broadcast, making him a fan favorite in Pittsburgh.
